Analyses Reveal Hidden Value for Cultural Attractions
Tom Tits Experiment creates benefits far beyond the visitor experience
When the pandemic hit, Tom Tits Experiment in Södertälje needed to find new ways forward. We analysed the centre’s impact beyond just visitor numbers, and found it contributes far more than experiences alone. Tom Tits Experiment makes the whole region more attractive and strengthens education, innovation, and community development. Just as Tivoli has shaped Copenhagen’s image, cultural attractions can strengthen a place’s identity.
Our analysis showed that Tom Tits Experiment creates value through:
- Education and skills development
- Integration and social interaction
- A stronger brand for the city
- Increased tourism revenue
These insights gave the organisation a strong foundation for the future and showed how culture creates value far beyond its walls. Our analyses of culture’s economic value and storytelling power span the Nordics. For the Swedish Institute, we explored how the Millennium Trilogy boosted Sweden’s international profile, and in Skåne, how the Wallander films increased the region’s pull for tourists. We have carried out similar assignments for Aarhus Municipality, Visit Iceland, and the Association of Film Commissioners International.
